Well, coming back early could be worse. I have proper access to the library, keeping studying for NEWTS. Daphne is back, and it will be nice to catch up.
At least it's quiet here.

Quidditch tomorrow, I check my study schedule, and my tutoring schedule and see if I can permit myself some time to attend the game. It might be nice to get some fresh air.

I don't really know how I feel about the Headmistress and the Ministry snub. My da works for the Ministry, and my sister Cat works for the Ministry, and they've both owled and said the Ministry wants what's best for the school. But seeing some of their past actions, I can't say that I exactly agree with this. I always thought my parents knew what was best, and they would sort things out. We'll just have to wait and see what happens, that's all we can do. With that being said, I will still be pursuing my goal to work for the Experimental Charms Committee.
Congratulations Slytherin, you played a fine game. It was a worthy win.

My sister Ashlyn is featured in the Daily Prophet social section for being social basically. She is extremely proud of this. To say her goals are lofty, what would be an understatement.

Enough. Enough with the squid rage. Daphne was attacked, she was scared. She did what she felt was best, telling her parents. If it were you all, you would be scared too. It wasn't like she provoked the squid, and then laughed as he or she, it was removed. Leave her alone, and worry about yourselves.
Lisa, I have written out a course of action for our tutoring schedule, and the goals we would like to accomplish. I will be sending them by owl, along with my free times. I'm sure we will find working together to be most accomplishing.
NEWTS are this year, and though they seem rather far away, they're not. Would any of the seventh years like to form study groups? Maybe we can each take a subject and help the group prepare a course of study. I'd like to do Charms, since I would like to work with charms after school ends. Everything else is open to discussion.

It has been an interesting couple of weeks. I was in fact, attacked by Peeves of all things not too long ago. Thankfully, a nice boy tried to come to my rescue. Thank you Alfred, even though we both took facefuls of cauldron water, you were still quite chivalrous. Peeves however, did ruin my new black jumper, and I had to throw it out. It was a rather nice one, angora. I'm hoping my mother will take pity on me, and send a new one right away. If not, I'm sure I can find something next time we make it to Hogsmeade.

I've been so tired lately, I actually took a nap today. Normally I find that to be a rather big waste of time. But I was sitting on my bed, reading, and the next thing I knew, I woke up, and it was about, an hour later. That is one hour I am never getting back. I feel I'm going to have to do something productive tonight to make up for it.

My father has constantly reminded me that he started studying for NEWTS back in his sixth year. That I am one year behind in his rigid studying schedule. That seems rather insane to me, and I don't understand how one doesn't go mad with that sort of pressure on them. Not like my father isn't laying on the pressure. Study Study STUDY. That's all I hear. I'm not Cat and refuse to be treated like another Cat.
Draco, your party was absolutely lovely, I feel rather rude I haven't sent your mother a thank you not. I do hope you pass my regards on to her. It was the highlight of my summer.
NEWTS study group, I know it's early, far too early, but is anyone interested in putting something together just in case?

We spent the first half of the summer at Brighton Beach. We always rent the same cabin, every year. And my da never relaxes, he's just brings all his work. To be honest, I would rather be home in Dublin than stuck here in Brighton. There's sand everywhere, and I miss having my own room rather than share with Bridget one second longer. That's the thing about family really, it's all too much togetherness time.
My da has been asking me about what my plans are once school is over. We have internship interviews lined for late June. I have recommendations from friends of my da's. It's been a rather stressful summer. No relaxation at all honestly. I know he means well, but this is my last summer before I go out into the real world. It would have been nice to have a summer of riding my horse, sleep late, and finish the last of my summer homework. Which I did, by July, my da made sure of that of course. With everything that's happened, I am actually looking forward to coming back to school this year.
My mum is having this end of the summer party charity thing. It's going to be a lot of boring small talk, people with little to say other than what they're wearing, buying, or who they've been working for. She wants me to come, and the only reason I'm considering it, besides my mum seems so proud of this thing, is that I can make some real connections at this party. Everyone else is going to be doing the same thing, why shouldn't I have the same opportunities?
